Renovation estimates your agent can call and cite.
Add the ModelQuoter MCP server, then ask your agent what a project costs. It gets a priced range from the same engine the site uses, plus a stable URL for the answer. Free, no account, no API key.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user modelquoter https://modelquoter.com/api/mcpEndpoint: https://modelquoter.com/api/mcp · MCP over streamable HTTP · unauthenticated
Then just ask
No command to remember. Once the server is added, the tool is available whenever a cost question comes up.

what would a 350 sq ft composite deck with aluminum railing run me in Austin?
Your agent, via ModelQuoter
$32,000–$54,000 USD, pre-tax. Rough confidence: stairs were assumed, and the total fell outside the expected market band, so the range was widened.

A project-scoped entry lives in .mcp.json at the repo root, so everyone who checks out the repo gets the same tool.
claude mcp add --transport http --scope project modelquoter https://modelquoter.com/api/mcpWhat comes back
A low–high range with the currency, the date the underlying rates were last updated, a confidence level, the line items driving the price, and every scope detail that had to be assumed. Plus the URL of a page showing the same figure, which your agent can cite or you can share.
The estimate is produced server-side by ModelQuoter. Agents are instructed to report it as given rather than adjusting or rounding it, so the number you see is the number we stand behind.
What it covers
13 project types, each with its own scope options:
- Fence
- Deck
- Patio / pavers
- Pergola / gazebo
- Exterior painting
- Driveway
- Roofing
- Landscaping
- Windows
- Swimming pool
- Kitchen
- Bathroom
- Basement finishing
What it will not do
- It is an estimate, not a quote. The only binding number is a contractor’s bid on your actual project.
- Totals are pre-tax and exclude permits and site-specific conditions.
- It does not read photos and it does not publish anything or contact contractors. Nothing you ask it leaves as a lead.
- Local pricing covers some markets, not all. Pass the city as “City, ST”. Where we have observed local rates the price is adjusted for that market; everywhere else you get a baseline, and the response says so rather than implying a local price.
Where the price is local
These markets have observed local rates behind them, so an estimate for them is adjusted rather than baseline:
- San Francisco Bay Area
- Los Angeles Metro
- San Diego County
- Greater Toronto
- Sacramento Metro
- Inland Empire
Anywhere else still returns an estimate, priced at the reference market for its country (Greater Toronto in Canada, Sacramento in the US) rather than a local rate, and every response carries a market.calibrated flag saying which you got. We add markets as real rate data accumulates; we do not invent a factor for a market we have not measured.

Start from a photo at modelquoter.com/imagine and ModelQuoter prices the space you actually have. Then local contractors quote on it.
